Barnsley Carers Service

Barnsley Carers Service is a free service for unpaid carers.

We work closely with a wide range of professional health and care services including, GP’s, BMBC, NHS and Charities. We provide information and advice to unpaid carers across Barnsley, we offer 1:1 emotional support and have a range of peer support groups. All of which is to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of local carers.

     We provide carers aged 18 and over with tailored resources designed to improve their lives, health, and wellbeing. We help carers to find balance in their busy lives and to access the support they need and are entitled to.

We know that often people do not see themselves as carers and can miss vital information and support to help them in their caring role.  Here are some examples of the things we can help with:

• Disability equipment and Assistive technology
• Blue badges
• Other specialist services
• Groups where you can talk to other carers.

• Help getting a break.
